In this role, you'll work closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and support a diverse real estate portfolio. You'll also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and collaborate with offshore accounting resources.

What You'll Do

  • Review financial information provided by third-party property management companies for accuracy and completeness.

  • Support accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and other real estate transactions.

  • Prepare consolidation and elimination entries as part of the financial reporting process.

  • Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide meaningful insights to management.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit engagements.

  • Help prepare annual financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance to offshore accounting team members.

  • Support special projects and perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of accounting experience, including experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of both.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • CPA designation or progress toward certification.

  • Experience in real estate, property management, or investment accounting.

  • Familiarity with Yardi or other real estate accounting systems.

  • Experience with consolidations and partnership accounting.

  • Public accounting experience, including Big Four or large regional firms, is a plus.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
