The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Private Lending Intern/Associate to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience within our private lending operation with a focus on receiving, organization and management of sensitive loan documentation and property insurance related to the property pledged as collateral for each loan. Additionally, this candidate will assist and support the lending team with ad hoc projects as needed. This is a part-time role, minimum 24 hours per week that, for a bright, hardworking, and committed candidate, has the opportunity to transition into a career on the private lending team or any division within the company.

What You'll Do

    • Loan Documentation:
    • Receive and audit - for quality control purposes - collateral loan documentation
    • Follow up with our internal team and external escrow/title company on any incomplete and/or missing loan documentation via email and telephone
    • Save and upload collateral loan documentation to our loan origination software
    • Organize and store or ship the original collateral loan documentation via UPS to the respective lender
    • Discard original collateral loan documentation on loans after pay off
    • Assist and support various ad hoc projects as needed, including release of lien audits

    • Property Insurance:
    • Receive and audit - for quality control purposes - collateral insurance policy documents
    • Follow up with our internal team as well as the borrower and the insurance agency on any insurance related issues, i.e. cancelations, non-renewals, etc.
    • Add unresolved insurance related issues to our internal insurance monitoring document for further follow up
    • Save and upload collateral insurance policy documents to our loan origination software
    • Participate in regularly scheduled insurance-related team meetings

What Qualifies You

    • Junior or Senior graduating in the next 12 months is ideal - who can and wants to transition to a full time position after graduation
    • Interest in real estate, investing, and lending
    • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal - willingness to pick up the phone and call
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
