The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning and implementing the production schedule for multiple production centers. Manages multiple activities to ensure on-time delivery, production output, cost and inventory goals are met. Maintain a minimum of raw material inventory to support the production schedules. Collaborate with the Demand Manager, Production Leaders, support personnel, and stakeholders to assure customer needs are met. The Planner/Scheduler develops, analyzes and adjusts material capacity plans in coordination with production schedules. The plans must align with business objectives while maximizing customer service and minimizing product and inventory costs.
Estimated Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 anually based on qualifications and experience.
Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, and responsibilities.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the development and maintaining of production schedules based on demand forecasts, resource availability, and capacity constraints that best services internal and external customers.
- Partner with Supply Chain / Procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and components required for component repair and remanufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including remanufacturing, procurement, and logistics to align plans and resolve issues.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Communicate with shop floor personnel, suppliers, and logistics teams to address scheduling bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve material flow issues.
- Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory while ensuring continuity of production.
- Expedite priority orders and coordinate workflow adjustments with production supervisors.
- Manage production progress and identify deviations from the schedule. Take corrective actions to mitigate delays and maintain on-time delivery.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements gains and presents to leadership best practices to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce lead times.
- Utilize planning process to manage complex production processes.
- Manage change orders and their impact on production schedules.
- Manage the annual year-end physical inventory process.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of experience in production planning or operations management, preferably in manufacturing
- Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel, and SQL
- Strong knowledge of MRP, lean manufacturing, and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience with critical path analysis and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to create performance metrics and optimize scheduling systems
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
