About the Opportunity We are partnering with a well-regarded, full-service mid-sized law firm in Los Angeles to place a talented Partner-Level Real Estate and Business Litigation Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior attorney looking for a collaborative platform, immediate workflow, and a clear path to partnership with meaningful business development support.

About the Role The firm has been around since 1970's, is Tier-1 ranked, and represents clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies. Their two primary rainmakers generate more work than the firm can currently service — meaning whoever joins has immediate workflow and meaningful, sophisticated matters from day one. They are selectively growing their litigation practice and looking for the right senior attorney to help lead that growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex real estate and business litigation matters from inception through resolution including trial
  • Handle commercial disputes, breach of contract claims, business-to-business disputes, and real estate related litigation
  • Develop and execute litigation strategy, manage discovery, draft and argue motions, and represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on high-stakes disputes
  • Maintain and grow client relationships and contribute to business development
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff
  • Actively participate in firm growth and client acquisition efforts

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of real estate and/or business litigation experience at a law firm
  • Active California Bar admission in good standing required
  • Portable book of business preferred — compensation scales significantly with portables
  • Strong trial and courtroom experience required
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Experience supervising junior attorneys preferred
  • Currently practicing at a law firm — in-house only candidates will not be considered
  • LA-based candidates only — relocation candidates will not be considered
