What Will You Do?
- Assists with safety and health inspections and verifying that corrective action has been taken
regarding hazards.
- Assists in the investigation of all injuries and accidents to determine their cause and potential
corrective action according to jurisdictional requirements.
- Reviews all accident investigations to determine corrective action and verify that corrective
action has been taken according to jurisdictional requirements.
- Arranges all applicable management and supervisory training as required by the Accident Prevention Program
- Maintains a company commitment to accident prevention by expecting safe conduct on the
part of all managers, supervisors and employees.
- Assigns responsibility to all levels of management, supervision and employees, and holding
them accountable for accident prevention and safety.
- Consistently and fairly enforcing all company safety rules, regulations and policies.
- Documents daily safety walks.
- Liaises with colleagues and clients on the successful development of appropriate safety plans, hazard assessments, risk registries/critical risk protocols and audits.
- Determines compliance with legislation and relevant additional standards, policies and procedures
- Recommends corrective measures and follows through on their implementation
- Assists with new employee orientation training.
- Prepares and updates the emergency response plan as necessary.
- Ensures records and postings required by OSHA/CALOSHA are kept up to date.
- Prepares weekly safety topics and ensures the weekly meetings are documented.
- Orders safety equipment, safety supplies and first aid supply and distributes as needed.
- Acts as a leader in company safety policy and sets a good example for all supervisors and employees.
- Ensures that contractors and sub trades remain in compliance by maintaining their safe work practices to comply with OSHA/ CALOSHA and Onni requirements and standards
- Coaches and assists site personal to achieve a safe workplace.
- Assists in the centralization of all site inspections, weekly reports, and OSHA/ CALOSHA reports.
- Ensures all records are complete and in conformance with OSHA/ CALOSHA requirements.
- Reviews of critical hoisting and large equipment placement.
- Performs other duties as required.
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Currently enroll in accredited college with a major in occupational health and safety, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English (Spanish is a plus)
- CPR and First Aid Certified, OSHA 30, preferred
- Strong documentation capacity with the ability to meet stringent deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must be organized and Strong interpersonal skills
Salary Range:
$25-$28/hour
