For over 45 years, Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) has provided a safety net of social welfare and community development services to empower people and communities in need. Summary of Duties: LTSC’s Real Estate Development Department (REDD) is seeking an intern to assist in the digitization of affordable housing project files and perform various administrative tasks to modernize and streamline the Department's records management system.


Intern Job Duties:

  • Records Digitization: Organize and prepare physical real estate project files for high-quality scanning; convert paper documents into standardized PDF formats.
  • Digital Asset Management: Upload and catalog scanned documents into LTSC’s cloud-based folders on box.com.
  • Records Disposition: Identify and securely shred duplicate or unnecessary documents as advised by supervisor and in accordance with LTSC’s data retention policies.
  • Physical Archiving: Categorize, box, and prepare permanent records for long-term storage, ensuring all containers are accurately labeled for future retrieval.
  • Data Integrity & Privacy: Maintain strict confidentiality and security protocols when handling sensitive project and personnel records.
  • Coordination: Maintain regular communication with the Project Supervisor and LTSC staff to ensure project milestones are met.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an undergraduate program.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and cloud storage applications;
    experience with document scanning software is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods during scanning operations, as well as the
    ability to stand, walk, and lift file boxes (approx. 20-30 lbs).
  • Attributes: Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.


Internship will be from June 2026 through July 2026.
