Manager, Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer

Los Angeles, CA|On-site role

We are seeking a motivated and talented Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer to join our team as a Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate loan origination, credit experience, a strong sales drive, and knowledge of all loan structures. Familiarity with dealership real estate is preferred, as well as experience with all commercial real estate asset classes.

DUTIES, TASKS, RESPONSIBILTIES (includes, but not limited to)

  • Develop new business, underwriting, structuring, and closing commercial loans, as well as working with the Portfolio Manager to maintain and service the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Evaluate and analyze loan applications, including the collection and organization of supporting financial documents from applicants.
  • Assist borrowers throughout the loan application process, providing guidance and answering questions to ensure a smooth and successful application experience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, understanding their financial needs, and providing tailored loan solutions.
  • Work with the Director to prepare and execute annual strategic marketing plans, develop new lending incentive programs, review monthly marketing metrics, and deploy program updates and announcements.
  • Generate monthly email blast ad marketing content and ideas to drive inbound calls.
  • Maintain a lead report and deal pipeline & prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports.
  • Use Salesforce to track all lead activity.
  • Prepare term sheets/LOIs and manage their execution by all parties.
  • Serve as liaison between Borrower and third-party vendors throughout the underwriting and closing process (i.e. appraiser, title company).
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the timely processing, closing, and onboarding of new loans.
  • Assist Director with relationship management activities, as needed.
  • Consistently strive to improve efficiency within all commercial lending processes, including automation development.
  • Meet with regional sales teams across Westlake Services and Westlake Flooring monthly.
  • Stay up-to-date on current industry trends, regulations, and lending practices to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Assist the Director with:
    • Loan application updates and improvements.
    • Development and deployment of proprietary loan management system's CRM module.
    • Ad hoc reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Between 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of loan originations, structuring, and credit.
  • Ability to take direction and formulate a game plan to deliver high quality results on time.
  • Solid knowledge of typical commercial lending legal documents.
  • Strong attention to detail, appreciation for urgency, and accountability.
  • Proven ability to manage the entire sales lifecycle from lead acquisition to closing.
  • Self-starter that can confidently manage a workload independently.
  • Experience with all loan types - working capital, acquisition, renovation, and ground up construction.
  • Proven experience in collecting and organizing supporting financial documents from applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with Borrowers and Stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial information.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions based on a thorough analysis of information.
  • Knowledge of the auto sector, specifically dealerships, ideal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, Costar, Salesforce, and LaserPro.
  • A commitment to providing excellent client service and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.

Pay Rate:

  • We offer a competitive Total comp: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 consisting of base salary plus monthly production
  • The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable
