Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Property Manager/Assistant to oversee the daily operations of single-family residential properties and assist in commercial properties and special projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, an understanding of property management software, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This role requires effective communication and negotiation abilities, as well as thorough knowledge of Fair Housing regulations. Possession of an active California Real Estate Salesperson License is preferred. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of property operations, ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Utilize property management software for efficient tracking of tenant information, maintenance requests, and financial reporting.
  • Rent Manager or Yardi experience preferred.
  • Oversee tenant relations, address inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular property visits to ensure maintenance standards are met and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities and ensuring timely completion of work orders.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records, including lease agreements, tenant communications and financial documents.
  • Review and provide monthly financial statements to property owners.
  • Work closely with President, Vice President and Director of Property Management to assist in special projects, generating correspondence, and risk management including, but not limited to, on-site inspections and budget preparation.
  • Provide coverage for the front desk when receptionist is not available.
  • Foster a positive office environment by demonstration excellent phone and personal etiquette and customer service skills in all interactions. 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in property management.
  • Proven experience in property management or a related field.
  • Familiarity with property management software such as Rent Manager or Yardi.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook and Word. 
  • Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and budgets. 
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and best practices in tenant relations is essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and maintain professional relationships with tenants.
