Community Development Banking (CDB): Provides financial solutions that support the growth of affordable housing and revitalization of low-and moderate-income communities across the U.S. working alongside CDB Bankers, Underwriters, and Treasury Services Payments partners.

What you can expect

Our 2025 CDB Analyst program will provide you with a valuable experience in Commercial Real Estate as well as knowledge of Commercial Banking as a whole. The program is 2.5 years in duration and is rotation based, offering Analysts experience in various Lines of Business within CDB including: Community Development Banking Real Estate, Historic Tax Credits, New Market Tax Credits, Treasury Services, and Intermediaries Lending. Analysts will receive targeted training with exposure to both Credit Risk and Banking/Originations.

The program, which starts June 2025, provides CDB Analysts with the ability to develop a strong foundation of analytical skills across a range of asset classes needed for a successful career in Commercial Real Estate. You’ll work with real estate professionals on a team, drawing from the full spectrum of the firm's resources to develop customized financial solutions to meet client needs.

You’ll begin the program with an intensive training program where you will learn about our products and services, clients and business practices. Under the leadership of our lending and training professionals, you will gain in-depth knowledge of accounting, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, underwriting, financial statement analysis, pro-forma modeling, risk grading, cash flow analysis, and credit structuring.

Upon the completion of your initial training, you will spend the duration of your program in our Los Angeles office, and will begin your first rotation in Community Development Banking. Upon successful completion of the 2.5 year CDB Analyst Program, you may be promoted to Associate.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Perform financial modeling & risk grading to support transactions
  • Analyze Collateral & markets 
  • Prepare marketing materials for use in client meetings (covering topics such as financing alternatives and industry / market trends & analysis)
  • Analyze Sponsorship & guarantor 
  • Assisting in the completion of credit approval memos and annual reviews
  • Summarize key deal metrics and facts for new loan letters of intent
  • Support sales teams with ad-hoc requests, property inspections and market research
  • Monitoring and management of Portfolios
  • Learn about treasury services tailored to commercial real estate and end to end sales process using a variety of internal sales tools
  • Developing an understanding of the full breadth of J.P. Morgan products and service offerings

Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment
  • Degree completion prior to June 2025
  • Enrolled in good standing at an accredited university in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Coursework or previous internship in real estate, finance, accounting or economics a plus
